We are a bespoke, private mortgage lender

Commercially lending will be open to most Urban centers in Canada and with a more focused plan residentially on major Urban centers in BC with plans for expansion in 2025 and 2026. We are a bespoke private mortgage lender that provides mortgage financing for borrowers and corporations who have the capacity and/or exit strategy to repay the mortgage within a shorter time frame than a traditional mortgage. We have smooth processes that will facilitate quick decisioning and funding when time is of the essence while still mitigating risk and minimizing losses.

Simon Carlsen

Executive Vice President

Simon leads the strategy and overall direction of Ninth Avenue Capital.

With a strong background in both mortgage lending and investing, he has worked with institutional investors as well as small private mortgage syndications. He also brings early career experience in real estate valuation and advisory, providing valuable insights into the industry.

Mark Tiu

Vice President, Commercial Mortgages

Mark is responsible for commercial mortgages at Ninth Avenue Capital.

He brings over 20 years of experience in mortgages, financial services, and banking. His expertise includes real estate lending, commercial banking, equipment financing, and credit risk management.

Mark is a registered Submortgage Broker in British Columbia.

Clinton J. Grayson

Vice President, Residential Mortgages

Clinton oversees residential mortgages at Ninth Avenue Capital.

He brings extensive knowledge in all aspects of residential real estate financing, including sourcing, origination, business development, and lending. Passionate about supporting and advancing the mortgage broker industry to elevate and give back, he has also held roles in sales and management, and has served as President and Board Chair of the BC Lenders Group Association.

Laura Adema

Senior Manager, Mortgage Administration

Laura manages mortgage funding and administration at Ninth Avenue Capital.

With a solutions-oriented approach, she brings over a decade of experience in mortgage funding, administration, and operations, ensuring accuracy and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Laura is a registered Submortgage Broker in British Columbia.

Curtis Land

Senior Associate, Commercial Mortgages

Curtis is a senior member of the commercial mortgage team at Ninth Avenue Capital.

He has extensive experience in mortgage investments and financial analysis, in addition to data analysis, process improvement, and loan portfolio monitoring. Previously, Curtis worked with a boutique mortgage lender, specializing in originating and underwriting high-yield real estate debt investments for institutional and private investors.
